Rotary Picnic Playground at JDF
Help us Climb Our Way to a Perfect Place to Play!
The Colwood Rotary Club and West Shore Parks & Recreation are working in partnership to a build a new playground in the West Shore.
The $244,000 project will be located near the Rotary Picnic Shelter in the Lower Park at Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre. This new playground will not only have the latest in children's park equipment but will also include features for children with disabilities and wheel chair accessible surfacing.
We have currently raised $87,500 towards the project and we hope our community can help us reach our goal.
Benefits of the Playground
- Structured play and free play opportunities for children.
- Fosters brain development.
- Improves motor skills.
- Provides opportunities for social development (language, intelligence and social skills).
- Connects children and families with the outdoors.
- Provides a location where families can play and spend quality time together.
- A place where community connections are made
