Bear Mountain Arena

The island's premiere mid-sized arena.

Mountain Arena Officially opened in February 2004; the facility has received praise for the warmth, intimacy, and tastefulness of its design. An ideal venue for concerts, tradeshows, large conferences and sporting events as there is no bad seat in the house! Fixed seating for 2300, including 10 box suites, arena floor seating for up to 860 people and an additional standing room area for 480 on the concourse. Free parking, concessions, in house catering, licensed premises, ticketing services, wireless internet, broadcasting capabilities and professional staff all add to the unique experience at the Bear.

The interior colors are appealing, the seating and foot room are terrific, and the dressing rooms, usually the biggest source of complaint at any arena, are spacious, well equipped, and plentiful. The multi-hued cloth banners and the three-dimensional murals on the end wall do double duty, acting as baffles as well as being decorative. There are no echoes or sound reverberations when the state-of-the-art digital sound system is cranked up. The boards are seamless Plexiglas and are NHL caliber… literally! They were bought from the Florida Panthers, who used the boards and glass for only one season before putting them on the market. The score clock, purchased from the demolished Victoria Memorial Arena, brings with it a history of 50 years of hockey, skating, and lacrosse in Victoria.

1 Year Lease: $7,000 plus tax
10 tickets to all Grizzlies and Shamrocks & Jr.Samrocks regular season and playoff games.

Grizzlies Season: $5,100 plus tax
10 tickets to Grizzlies regular season and playoff games

Shamrocks Season: $1,900 plus tax
10 tickets to Shamrocks regular season and playoff games and Jr. Shamrocks regular season and playoff games

*When special events are scheduled at Bear Mountain Arena, box suite tenants have first right of refusal of tickets (must purchase ten tickets at the face value). Box holders are notified prior to events to purchase tickets or box is released to promoter for that specific event.

Tenants

The three major tenants at Bear Mountain Arena are the Victoria Grizzlies (BCHL) and the Victoria Shamrocks (WLA) and Armageddon Fighting Championship (AFC). Bear Mountain Arena is also home to the Jr. Shamrocks and Major Midget Victoria Thunderbirds and provides significant ice time to JdF Minor Hockey and Adult Rec Hockey Users. Bear Mountain Arena offers a “dry zone” for families at all events. Licensed security staff are First Aid and AED trained.
